Responsibilities & Context

Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK), established in 1972 as a Public Charitable Trust, is a leading national NGO in Bangladesh. Founded on the vision that the country’s progress depends on the well-being of its poor and the empowerment of women, GK has consistently responded to major natural disasters, delivering vital aid and healthcare.

GK operates 43 health centers across 19 districts, two hospitals, the largest dialysis center in Bangladesh, and educational institutions, including a university, medical and dental colleges, and vocational training programs for women. With partnerships involving, UNHCR, WFP, UNICEF and Malteser International, GK has earned national and international recognition for its work in health and humanitarian response.

Job Summary:

The Resource Mobilization Specialist will play a strategic role in strengthening GK’s financial base by leading resource mobilization efforts and developing innovative approaches to secure diverse funding sources. The specialist will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, building relationships with donors and partners, and ensuring the submission of high-quality funding proposals, donor reports, and communication materials. This position requires advanced expertise in fundraising, donor engagement, and resource management to support GK’s programs and strategic goals effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Resource Mobilization

  • Design and implement comprehensive resource mobilization strategies to diversify GK’s funding portfolio.
  • Conduct donor mapping, funding landscape analysis, and research to identify potential donors, partners, and funding opportunities.
  • Develop innovative fundraising approaches, including public-private partnerships, social impact investments, and digital fundraising campaigns.

2. Donor Engagement and Management

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with institutional, corporate, and individual donors.
  • Prepare and deliver high-impact donor presentations, organizational profiles, and project briefs tailored to donor priorities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key donors and funding agencies, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.

3. Proposal Development

  • Lead and coordinate the development of winning proposals, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and priorities.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and technical teams to produce high-quality log frames, budgets, and technical narratives.
  • Ensure all proposals meet organizational and donor compliance standards.

4. Reporting and Accountability

  • Prepare accurate and timely donor reports, including narrative and financial components, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
  • Work closely with program and finance teams to track project progress and maintain transparency with donors.
  • Support due diligence processes, including the preparation and submission of required organizational documentation.

5. Knowledge Management and Capacity Building

  • Establish and maintain a repository of donor communication materials, project proposals, and reports.
  • Mentor and train internal staff on resource mobilization, proposal development, and donor engagement best practices.
  • Stay updated on global trends in resource mobilization, donor expectations, and funding mechanisms.
