Responsibilities & Context

NGO Forum for Public Health has been implementing multi donor funded several WASH projects in the Humanitarian Response in Cox’s Bazar. This position will support and coordinate those projects, liaising with government entities, UN agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated and effective implementation. The incumbent should also be responsible for regular reporting, team coordination, and active representation in the sector. Sector Lead – WASH will be reportable to the Head of Programme Operations and should work closely with the different Projects Manager/Coordinator/ Team Leader/Expert(s) and other key departments from NGO Forum Central Office. Assist to develop sector strategy in line with NGO Forum’s mission, vision and strategic planning in the WASH response priority.

  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders including UN agencies, WASH Sector, ISCG, RRRC, local administrations, NGOs/INGOs to ensure smooth implementation of WASH programs.
  • Ensure effective and coherent WASH assessment, analysis and feedback involving all relevant WASH projects implemented by the NGO Forum.
  • Actively represent NGO Forum in WASH Sector coordination and DC coordination meetings and sharing the overall updates.
  • Work closely with the Sector Technical Specialists and Field program management staff, and in collaboration with the UN agencies, the government, Clusters and other local and international NGO partners.
  • Produce high quality and timely reports as required by the funding agencies and for NGO Forum (within agreed reporting schedules as required) and also ensure documentation of lessons learnt, good practice and case studies to contribute to broader sector learning.
  • Liaise with government entities to secure necessary approvals for project implementation.
  • Host, arrange, and lead WASH-related field visits, and prepare and deliver briefings/presentations on WASH activities for donors and visitors on need basis.
  • Facilitate team coordination in the field by arranging regular meetings and enhancing the quality delivery of the WASH project.
  • Contribute to broader sectoral strategies through playing an advocacy role, influence and leadership within inter-agency coordination forums, ensuring specific focus on WaSH and cross-cutting sectoral issues.
  • Contribute to the preparation of WASH budgets, funding concepts, and proposals by applying practical filed analysis and aligning with sector strategies.
  • Provide inputs to write concept notes, showcase the success stories and case studies to demonstrate positive impacts on WASH intervention to secure new fundings and donor support.
