Experience & Education 

  • Seniority: Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Warehousing and Enterprise Data Architecture.
  • Solid experience on migration, data cloud solutions, and the implementation of operational production solutions on Snowflake.
  • Must have a solid understanding of architecting, designing and operationalization of large-scale data and analytics solutions on Snowflake.
  • Integration Mastery: Deep practical knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC) tools like HVR, enterprise ETL tools like Talend, or modern tools like dbt.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Modeling: Mastery of relational modeling, Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault 2.0, or modern Lakehouse architecture methodologies.
  • SQL & Programmatic AI: Expert-level SQL optimization skills alongside experience in Python (Snowpark) to build data pipelines and deploy Cortex AI functions.
  • Cost & Security Management: Experience implementing Snowflake resource monitors, data masking, secure data shares, and cost-allocation tagging.

Soft Skills

  • Agile Communicator: Exceptional ability to translate highly technical cloud and AI concepts into business-value terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive Optimizer: A self-starter mindset focused on refactoring legacy bottlenecks into modern, automated, and cost-efficient workflows.

Responsibilities & Context

As the Senior Data Warehouse & BI Architect, you will actively drive the strategy and implementation of the Gildan Business Intelligence roadmap. In this pivotal role, you will evaluate legacy infrastructure, bridge existing gaps, and architect a future-state Snowflake AI Data Cloud ecosystem.

 

You will ensure our current solutions continuously evolve while enriching the broader BI ecosystem. Your focus will be on building a highly available, secure, traceable, scalable, and high-quality data mesh. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who leverages modern cloud capabilities, implements strict usage and cost controls, and embeds AI innovations to maximize the business value of Gildan’s data intelligence and analytics.

 

Architecture & Data Modeling

  • Snowflake & Azure Design: Lead the end-to-end architectural design, performance tuning, and multi-cluster modeling of our Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Modern Pipeline Architecture: Architect robust, scalable ingestion streams utilizing HVR/Fivetran for real-time replication and modern ELT frameworks (Talend, dbt).
  • AI & Advanced Analytics: Integrate Snowflake AI services (Cortex AI), built-in Large Language Models (LLMs), and Streamlit to deliver intelligent data applications and automated insights.

 

Data Governance & Usage Control

  • FinOps & Usage Control: Design and enforce strict resource monitors, automated warehouse suspension, and budget alerts to optimize Snowflake credit consumption and compute spend.
  • Lineage & Traceability: Implement data governance processes using Snowflake Horizon and Azure Purview to guarantee data lineage, compliance (GDPR/CCPA/SOC2), and strict data quality metrics.
  • Metadata & Documentation: Maintain automated data dictionaries, enterprise-wide logical/physical data models, and automated Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).

 

Collaboration & Operational Enablement

  • BI & Analytics Support: Partner closely with BI Developers and Data Analysts to optimize query performance, automate environment provisioning, and manage CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • DataOps Leadership: Facilitate automation protocols for environment setup, secure permission configurations (RBAC/ABAC), and zero-copy cloning workflows.
  • Quality Assurance Partnership: Support Data Governance, and QA teams by building validation frameworks for complex data integration initiatives and regressions.
