We are seeking a Senior Cosmetic Chemist to drive innovation, develop new products, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with teams such as Business Development, Marketing, and Production to bring innovative cosmetic and personal care products from concept to full-scale production. This is a full-time position within a rapidly growing business. We want to keep growing bigger and keep doing better, so we are looking for an experienced Cosmetic Chemist who is able to:
- Continuously monitor and identify innovative trends and concepts in the market that are relevant to the cosmetics industry.
- Develop new products to brief and on schedule, as well as reformulate existing products, while reducing complexity and costs.
- Manage the entire process of product development, from conceptualization to full-scale production.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to provide insights on market trends and innovations that can be leveraged for product development.
- Prepare laboratory-scale batches for formulation, customer samples, and various testing.
- Ensure all required tests are conducted, tracked, and reported on time, in line with agreed specifications.
- Assess cosmetic packaging for quality, functionality, and stability to ensure product integrity.
- Oversee scale-up and pilot batches, making recommendations for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Provide support to manufacturing for troubleshooting, offering recommendations on how to resolve out-of-spec product issues.
- Ensure quality control of laboratory raw material samples by maintaining organized sample storage and COA documents.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and uphold safety regulations in both the laboratory and manufacturing areas.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Driving product innovation and introducing cutting-edge technologies into the product development process.
- Managing the end-to-end process of product formulation, testing, and launching, including overseeing lab work and liaising with suppliers.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and adhering to international cosmetic standards and safety regulations.
- Supporting the production team during pilot and full-scale manufacturing, ensuring a smooth transition from R&D to production.
