Responsibilities & Context
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining cost accounting systems and procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data to provide insights for cost control and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Perform variance analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
Prepare and present detailed reports on cost analysis and financial performance to management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor and report on budget vs. actual performance, providing insights and recommendations for adjustments.
Inventory Management:
Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
Reconcile finished goods inventories and work-in-progress (WIP) inventories.
Product Costing:
Maintain and update standard costs of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
Ensure accurate costing of new products and provide cost estimates for pricing decisions.
Financial Controls and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as accounting standards and regulations.
Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
