Additional Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working in diverse settings .

Responsibilities & Context

RTM International is going to appoint a number of skilled professionals for the study titled “A Ring Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Intervention to Reduce Cholera in Hotspots in Bangladesh (Urban Model)”. The required qualification and experiences for the position.

Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (with travel to urban field sites and Manikganj field sites).

Responsibilities:

Training and Capacity Building:

• Attend a 14-day randomized controlled trial (RCT) training on intervention delivery.

• Participate in monthly refresher trainings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of study protocols and procedures.

Household-Based Interventions:

• Conduct household-based interventions during the morning and evening hours, including weekends (Saturdays and Fridays).

• Distribute hardware and software and set them up within intervention households.

Public Engagement and Motivation:

• Deliver public talks and presentations, motivating community members to participate in the study and interventions.

Data Management:

• Enter collected data into the study database accurately and on time.

• Ensure all paper forms are transcribed and entered into the database within one week of data collection, with the support of Research Officers.

Study Logistics and Maintenance:

• Maintain intervention supplies and equipment at the office.

• Oversee the maintenance of devices and other tools used in the study.

Case Screening and Testing:

• Screen and recruit suspected cholera cases at health facilities.

• Conduct stool testing for cholera using the rapid VC Dipstick test.

Participant Enrollment and Baseline Data Collection:

• Enroll eligible diarrhea and cholera patients in the control arm of the study.

• Administer baseline study questionnaires to participants.

Water Testing:

• Test water samples for chlorine concentrations in line with study protocols.

Meetings and Reporting:

• Attend weekly field team meetings with the evaluation and intervention teams.

• Participate in weekly meetings with the intervention team.

Translation and Documentation:

• Transcribe and translate in-depth interviews and focus group discussions as needed.

Additional Support:

• Assist with other aspects of the pilot and intervention studies as directed by the Intervention Coordinator or Principal Investigator.

Work Hours:

• This position will require early morning and late evening work, including on Saturdays and Fridays.
