  • Willing and able to travel independently outside station.
  • Good level of understanding of CSP and CWIS principles.

Responsibilities & Context

Based in Faridpur, the Senior Officer – Capacity Building will be responsible mainly for capacity building of municipal authority and sanitation worker and different stakeholder. Also support to preparing the city sanitation plan in line with city wide inclusive sanitation principles and provide training on waste management. Below are key responsibilities-

  • Provide training to the waste and sanitation workers and Municipality officials and elected representatives on waste management.
  • Organize & facilitate advanced capacity building for pit emptying enterprises/cooperatives for service market promotions and quality improvement for greater
  • Organize & facilitate training for organisational development (operations, administrative, financial and human resources) of sweepers cooperatives, development of profile and membership with business associations
  • Orientation on CWIS approach and Planning workshop for municipal decision makers on city sanitation planning.
  • Advance training on CWIS approach for MSCC members for sectorial coordination, monitoring PPP, review the business performance of FSM local stakeholders and customer satisfaction, container inspection and reporting.
  • Coordinate between different project teams and provide necessary support on components related to urban sanitation planning.
  • Work in close collaboration with multiple project teams who are responsible for implementation of various projects in different municipalities to determine the strategies for incorporating CSP.
  • Regular collaboration with municipal authorities, City Sanitation Working Group (CSWG) and relevant stakeholder to implement the CSP
  • Development of training packages for municipal stakeholders including engineers, conservancy staff & public representatives and MSSC members on CSP, FSM and Waste Management
  • Support communications unit with development of communication materials, brochures and other relevant products on CSP for popularizing the project interventions among different stakeholders
  • Maintain liaisons with different stakeholders and represent Practical Action in coordination meetings and external events
  • Build rapport and professional relation with the relevant GoB, local alliances, NGO, local government, civil society, private organisations, and individuals
  • Conduct regular follow up and monitoring of the activities to track the progress by ensuring quality.
  • Support to produce quality reports for donor and provide input to quarterly progress and annual impact review report for organisation.
  • Support to capture learning and dissemination in external platform and other Regional/Country offices of Practical Action.
