Required qualifications and skills:
- Updated knowledge of the development sector in Bangladesh, including relevant policies and best practices specially on gender transformation
- Ability to manage and coordinate diverse tasks, facilitating relationships among multiple parties
- Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, program coordination, development sector roles, journalism or other relevant fields
- Expertise in report drafting in English and documentation
- In-depth knowledge of the news media sector in Bangladesh is preferred
- Proficiency in English and Bangla, with strong communication and presentation skills
- Honours/Master’s from any recognized university

About MRDI
Established in May 2001, MRDI has emerged as a leading media development organization in Bangladesh, with a vision to foster a just and open society. Registered as a company with limited liability and an organization registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau, affairs of the organization are run by a team of professionals, guided by a board of directors. Recognized for its advocacy for the right to information, MRDI played a crucial role in the enactment of the RTI Act in Bangladesh and continuing its efforts for its effective implementation.
Over the years, MRDI has been working with an aim towards its mission to support the development of a strong and independent media that exercises excellence in journalism, and to empower all people including the marginalised to freely enjoy their right to information, working with partners in Bangladesh and beyond.
Under one of its strategic objectives, the organization actively promotes gender equity both within its internal operations and across its programs. This commitment is implemented through a gender-transformative approach aiming to address and challenge existing gender norms and inequalities to create systemic change.
Job responsibilities
- Assist in implementation of the gender related activities as per project plan
- Generate reports and analytical documents for internal and external use and maintain documentation
- Coordinate with the programme team for effective implementation and compliance with timelines and requirements
- Generate innovative ideas for the effective implementation of project activities
