Requirements

Responsibilities & Context

“Senior Project Officer –WELP” plays a pivotal role in executing a comprehensive strategy for skills development within the WELP component under the GBV project for Rohingya women. She will implement the project aimed at empowering Rohingya women through capacity building, economic development, and gender-based violence prevention and mitigation. The role involves monitoring and evaluation, staff supervision, coordination with relevant stakeholders, and design and development of project materials and products to achieve project objectives. The incumbent will prepare a database and find potential entrepreneurs based on set criteria and provide necessary support to the participants to be a successful entrepreneur.

Coordination and Planning:

  • Support the planning and development of entrepreneurship strategy for the WELP project incorporating the gender and social inclusion strategy of HCMP
  • To ensure coordination with different sector-specific stakeholders of the local/ sectoral committee
  • To ensure coordination with different institutions and NGOs
  • To analyze sectoral demand and develop a strategy
  • Develop and implement comprehensive work plans aligned with project goals and donor requirements

Implementation:

  • Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and propose timely solutions to ensure effective delivery
  • Design and develop innovative products and services to meet the needs of Rohingya women
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of field staff and volunteers to ensure efficient and effective project implementation
  • Provide regular guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to staff
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems to track project progress and impact
  • Collect and analyze data to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement
  • Prepare regular progress reports and other relevant documentation
  • Conduct training and workshops for Rohingya women on various topics such as leadership, financial literacy, business management, and gender-based violence prevention
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and peer learning among project participants
  • Create training materials, IEC materials, and other project tools

Knowledge Management and Reporting:

  • To collect primary and secondary data relating to studies, market surveys or other requirements
  • To assist in preparing case studies of successful participants and provide information for updating project communication needs
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on project activities, achievements, and challenges
  • Compile data and information for donor reports and other external communications

Coordination:

  • Call upon coordination meetings before drafting major reports
  • Establish and maintain a strong coordination channel with the MEAL, Communications, and Finance & Accounts teams of the programmes to integrate relevant data into reports, as required

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
