Job Summary:

We are seeking a System Engineer / Senior System Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team for our Internet Service Provider (ISP) operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining network infrastructure, troubleshooting system and network issues, and ensuring high availability of services for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Network & System Operations

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, servers, and systems to ensure 99.99% uptime.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and servers to optimize performance.
• Diagnose and resolve network outages, hardware failures, and system issues efficiently.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement preventive measures.

NOC Operations & Incident Management

• Proactively monitor network performance, bandwidth usage, and security events using NMS tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
• Respond to alerts, escalations, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with different teams to resolve Level 1, 2, and 3 incidents.
• Maintain incident logs and generate reports for management.

Infrastructure & Security

• Implement firewall policies, VPN configurations, and security measures to prevent cyber threats.
• Work on network automation, scripting (Bash, Python), and system optimization.
• Manage cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).

ISP & Service Provider Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other ISP core technologies.
• Manage IP address allocation, DNS, and DHCP services.
• Troubleshoot customer connectivity issues (Fiber, Wireless, GPON, DSL, etc.).
• Work with upstream providers and IXPs for traffic optimization.

Documentation & Compliance

• Create and maintain network diagrams, system documentation, and SOPs.
• Follow ITIL, ISO, and security best practices for compliance.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and NOC team members.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in network/system administration, ISP, or NOC operations.

Technical Skills:

Networking:

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPN, QoS.

System Administration:

Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL), Windows Server.

Hardware:

Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Mikrotik, Huawei, Fortinet devices.

Security:

Firewall configuration, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DDOS mitigation.

Cloud & Virtualization:

AWS, Azure, VMware, OpenStack, Hyper-V.

Scripting:

Python, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell (for automation).

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in 24/7 shift-based NOC environments.

Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory):

CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, RHCSA/RHCE, MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
