Language

  • English, Bangla and Chittagonian languages are all essential
  • Candidate must be able to communicate with Rohingya patients independently.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Locaions : Ukhiya, Cox´s Bazar (Goyalmara & Camp 8w)

Accountabilities:

Assessment Strategies:

  • Being responsible for assessing the community perception of sexual violence, the perceived needs of survivors of sexual violence and reasons survivors do not seek health care
  • In collaboration with the international staff responsible for SV program, develop, monitor and evaluate strategies for MSF’s SV approach in the project based on MSF’s overall strategy and procedures for SV

Outreach and awareness:

  • Being responsible for training, support and follow up of the outreach team for SV awareness rais-ing and community engagement to develop and improve awareness raising activities and commu-nity dialogue, discussion and messaging, materials and methods regarding the medical and psycho-logical consequences of SV, availability of medical and psychosocial care and the importance of timely access after sexual violence
  • Being responsible for identifying and engaging with the key target groups of trusted, respected community members and support services for outreach activities together with the outreach team

Medical and psychosocial care:

  • Being responsible for the set-up of care pathway and facilities for SV activities in line with MSF SV guidelines and MSF standards and procedures
  • Being responsible for the application of the 5 steps of implementation with the main objective to create timely access to quality and comprehensive medical and psychosocial care to survivors of sexual violence and intimate partner violence (IPV).

Referral and coordination:

  • Ensure information on the available support services for survivors of SV is gathered, a referral pathway is in place and that referrals are monitored and evaluated.
  • Participate in SV sub-cluster meetings and maintain contacts and communicate and coordinate with the different formal and informal support services.

Monitoring and evaluations:

  • Ensure relevant data is captured using the SV data tool, stored, with ensured confidentiality, and analyzed.

Training:

  • Identify training needs, organize and coordinate training, coaching and supervision about SV for MSF health care providers and other MSF staff members, including community outreach teams and other staff, based on the findings of learning needs assessments, knowledge, attitude and practices questionnaires and observation

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:

  • In collaboration with other relevant personnel, to develop, monitor, and evaluate the SGBV response program, ensuring alignment with MSF protocols
  • Deliver comprehensive care to SV and IPV cases in OPD or IPD according to MSF protocols, ensuring follow-up consultations and access to mental health support.
  • Support midwives in actively screening patients for SV and IPV in the SRH department.
  • Work with other colleagues to identify and establish collaborations with relevant actors in social welfare, legal aid, and psychological services.
  • Facilitate referrals for survivors to appropriate services, including social welfare, legal aid, and psychological management.
  • Ensure survivors are informed about MSF SV/IPV certificates and available legal support services, referring to protection pathways as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Health Promotion to plan and execute a community awareness strategy, including identifying and sensitizing community helpers to foster awareness campaigns and improve survivor referrals.
  • Work closely with the HP team to analyze community perceptions and barriers to accessing SV care.
  • Plan and conduct staff and community assessments on SGBV awareness.
  • Sensitize and train MSF staff in OPD, IPD, and HP departments to identify and refer survivors to SRH SV services while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Provide briefings on SV care to new staff during induction.
  • Organize and oversee medical supplies and materials for survivor care.
  • Ensure the continuous availability of SV drugs for adult and child cases in OPD and IPD
  • Prepare orders for essential medicines for the program
  • Ensure proper documentation, secure storage, and confidentiality of SV survivor data.
  • Prepare detailed monthly reports on SGBV activity.
  • Report patient incidents or complex cases promptly to PMR or MWAM.
  • Mobilize and preside over SV committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with the mental health supervisor and counselor-educator for survivor follow-up and comprehensive care.
  • Support the SRH team during the absence of regular midwives (e.g., leave periods), and day to day activity
