Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Power Technology (or equivalent).

Experience

  • At least 10 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Textile, Industrial Machineries (Generator, Diesel Engine etc.)

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 22 years
  • 10+ years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of thermal power plant operations, including boilers, turbines, generators, and control systems.
  • Thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulations in power plant operations.
  • The role requires working in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The work environment may include exposure to high temperatures, noise, and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary:

The Shift in charge is responsible for managing and supervising the operations of the thermal power plant during a specific shift. This includes ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all plant equipment and machinery. The role also involves coordinating with various departments, managing shift staff, and addressing any operational issues that arise.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and control all operational parameters of the power plant, including boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment.

Ensure that the plant operates within the prescribed safety and operational limits.

Make real-time decisions to manage load changes and handle any abnormalities or emergencies in plant operation.

Lead and supervise a team of operators and technicians during the shift.

Provide guidance and training to shift staff as needed.o    Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed by the shift team.

Maintain accurate records of plant operations, including logs, shift reports, and any incidents.

Liaise with maintenance, engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
