- Should have communication skill in English or Arabic.
- Knowledge of international shipping and maritime regulations.
- Experience with software like Navis Berth Window Planning, TOS, or other port planning tools.
- Analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Familiarity with port operating systems and berth planning tools.
- Strong understanding of vessel operations and port logistics.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle last-minute changes.
Responsibilities & Context
- Assign incoming vessels to specific berths based on vessel size, cargo type, availability, and priority.
- Coordinate ship arrival and departure times with port traffic control, terminal operators, and shipping agents.
- Maximize berth utilization and minimize vessel idle time.
- Avoid clashes and congestion during peak times.
- Coordinate with pilots, tugboat services, customs, marine traffic, and cargo handling teams.
- Use Port Management Systems (PMS), Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), or Berth Planning Software like Navis N4, TBA, or PORTS GIS.
- Ensure safe berthing practices based on IMO guidelines and local maritime regulations.
