Experience:·

  • At least 5 years of experience in material development and quality assurance, preferably in an education or humanitarian context.
  • Proven experience in developing educational materials, especially lesson plans, contextualizing TG for education projects.
  • Strong understanding of subject-based pedagogy, methods, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with the Pearson Edexcel Curriculum and its implementation.
  • Proficient in English (both written and spoken).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, observation, problem solving and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse and marginalized communities.

Deliverables:

  • Complete lesson plans for English, Mathematics, and Science for all assigned levels.·
  • Regular class observation and quality assurance activities reports with actionable feedback for teachers and project management·
  • Quarterly analysis reports on material delivery quality and curriculum alignment.
  • Recommendations for continuous improvement of teaching materials and practices.

Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of Specialist-Material Develper & Quality Assurance for implementing ‘Education and Protection for Refugee Children (EPRC) Project’ funded by UNHCR, located at Ukhiya & Teknaf Cox’s Bazar).

Objectives of the Role:·

  • Design lesson plans, preparing teaching learning materials, contextualizing the TG of English, Mathematics, and Science based on the Pearson Edexcel Curriculum.·
  • Conduct teacher class observations to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum.·
  • Provide professional development support for the teachers through observation and feedback mechanisms.·
  • Develop, edit & analyze the quality of material·
  • Ensure alignment of teaching practices and materials with Pearson Edexcel standards.

Key Responsibilities:·

  • Develop comprehensive and interactive lesson plans for English, Mathematics, and Science, catering to students’ diverse needs.·
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and age- appropriateness.·
  • Aligning lesson plans with Pearson Edexcel learning objectives and outcomes.·
  • Conduct regular field visits for classroom observations to evaluate teachers’ instructional strategies.·
  • Analyze teachers’ material delivery quality and provide constructive feedback and recommendations to improve teaching methods.·
  • Ensure teaching materials and methods align with subject-based pedagogy, methods, and techniques.·
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance teachers’ pedagogical skills.·
  • Analyze the delivery of teaching materials and ensure consistency with curriculum standards.·
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the materials and their impact on students’ learning outcomes.·
  • Review and refine teachers’ guides (TG) to ensure teachers’ easy understanding to meet Pearson Edexcel standards.·
  • Adapt materials to meet the unique needs of Rohingya children while maintaining curriculum reliability.·
  • Develop and submit periodic reports on lesson plan development and quality assurance activities.

Safegurding & PSEA:

  • S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
