Responsibilities & Context
- Responsible to implement total activities of hospital or department under suspension of consultant.
- Responsible to manage and support all clinical activity related to patient.
- Adequately assess patient’s condition, based on history and physical examination to establish diagnosis.
- Able to interpret relevant investigations for smooth management of patient.
- Competent to manage surgical patients from admission to discharge.
- Continuously monitor and review patient progress and adjust management plan according to need in consultation with respective consultant.
- Responsible for in patient round every day and fill gaps in case sheet and progress note.
- Competent with updated knowledge on obstetrics and Gynecology and apply them on patients under supervision of consultant.
- Must play role in teaching medical officers, Nurses/midwifery staffs.
- Maintain record of clinical activities including surgery systematically.
- Finalize statistics of the department 6 monthly and annually and disseminate among other departments.
- Organize CME, Seminars within the department periodically.
- Participate in annual performance development review.
- Undertake mandatory training (including safety and quality training) as relevant to role.
- Counter sign the discharge certificate and ensure that ensure that treatment and advice are well ventilated to the patient.
- Maintain friendly congenial environment with colleagues and patients.
- Evaluate performance of medical officers (MO) and senior Medical officers (SMO) annually.
- Participate continuously in quality improvement activities in accordance to recognized health standards.
