Responsibilities & Context

Job Purpose:

The Specialist – Software Maintenance is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing Python-based software systems and automation tools. This role will ensure software reliability, performance, and compatibility by identifying bugs, applying patches, implementing enhancements, and supporting system integration with databases and other services (e.g., PL/SQL, APIs). The role also includes responsibility for maintaining and enhancing web applications built with the Django framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, maintain, and update web applications using the Django framework in Python.
Monitor, maintain, and enhance existing software applications and internal tools written in Python.
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve software bugs, security vulnerabilities, and performance issues.
Perform code refactoring and implement best practices to improve code quality and maintainability.
Write Python scripts to automate software maintenance and system administration tasks.
Integrate Python applications with databases (especially Oracle) using PL/SQL queries.
Work with teams to deploy bug fixes, updates, and new features in production environments.
Maintain proper system documentation, change logs, and user guides.
Participate in version control, code reviews, and CI/CD processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
