Responsibilities & Context

  • Manage all aspects of the PMD department including managing staff and all relevant projects.
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products and preparing appropriate reports with supporting documents.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements.
  • Appraise new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; prepare detailed return-on-investment analyses; establish time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Coordinate with all relevant departments and conduct and lead regular meetings in order to launch new products in a timely manner with set deadlines.
  • Undertake all activities regarding new product launching.
  • Formulate annual budget for assigned products.
  • Prepare market feasibility report in a timely manner.
  • Take charge of brand name selection and generate design ideas.
  • Submit brand name proposal and follow up on finalizing it.
  • Take charge of preparing Recipe, Annexure and Inclusion materials.
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel in Drug Regulatory Affairs and monitor their activities.
  • Ensure preparation of text for inclusion materials.
  • Develop and proof check design of brand logo, foil, carton, insert, label, physician sample and PPM.
  • Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising and production.
  • Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Fully develop product-detailing plans and train all field forces to ensure complete success of product launch and marketing.
  • Obtain product market share by working with Sales Department to develop product sales strategies.
  • Follow up on sales target at the field force level and monitor their trends.
  • Ensure that product targeted sales are being achieved successfully and identify and address any deficiencies immediately.
  • Assess product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Identify field force issues related to sales and marketing of products and provide appropriate solutions to fix those issues.
  • Determine customers’ needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Make regular field visits in order to assess position of products and field forces and all stakeholders including hospitals, clinics, doctors, chemist shops, etc.
  • Regularly make field visits to monitor sales force, introduce products and field force to doctors and KOLs, establish new relationships with hospitals, doctors, clinics, etc. and enhance current relationships with existing stakeholders.
  • Frequently conduct market survey in order to determine field force work compliance, sales monitoring, prescription monitoring, doctor satisfaction, etc.
