Responsibilities & Context
Job Context:
AKH Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. (AKDL) is a 100% Export Oriented Knit Composite Factory located at Phulbaria, Tetuljhora, Savar, Dhaka and a sister concern of AKH Group. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Sr. Manager for the IE Department.
Job Description/Responsibility:
- Overall control and smooth management of a large Knit Composite Garments Factory.
- Setting up of Department/Section wise Manpower based on target- strength ratio.
- Concept design, justification, approval and implementation of strategic production planning and line balancing to get optimum productivity.
- Sound and solid planning and follow up total production flow by and balancing the production lines to ensure optimum capacity utilization.
- Identification of opportunities for process improvement resulting in service, cost and accuracy/quality.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements of technology, methods, flow path, material handling, training etc.
- Develop and follow up overall production plan in line with timely shipment requirement of customers ensuring delivery of right quality.
- Take necessary steps to minimize wastage and loss in all operating areas.
- Monthly performance status report preparation and submission to the Management.
- Overseeing the Work Study Section to ensure that the industrial engineering techniques are adopted in the manufacturing process.
- Selecting low performing operations, carrying out method studies, identifying areas for improvement, suggesting and implementing solutions to improve the efficiency level of low performing operations.
- Conducting time, method and production studies to enhance efficiency, establishing standard times for operations where standards have not been determined and updating the standard data bank accordingly.
- Coordinating with the floor staffs (Supervisors, Line Chiefs, In-charge, etc) for appropriate layout (work distribution plan) of lines to facilitate an optimum performance.
- Observing pre-production sample preparation, coordinating and carrying out pilot studies for new styles to identify the most suitable work methods and possible bottle necks and taking corrective actions in coordination with other managers.
- Ensuring that proposed improvements are implemented by the Production Department and the planned targets are achieved.
- Preparing video demonstrations and conducting training workshops to train operators, supervisors and other staffs on work study techniques.
- Co-ordination with HR Department for training planning & execution for both Fresh and Multi-skill training.
