Responsibilities & Context
Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering team, including engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, and strategies in alignment with overall plant objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and innovation within the team.
Maintenance & Reliability:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of key machinery, including solvent extraction equipment, refining units, and associated mechanical systems.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety audits and inspections.
Operational Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of mechanical systems with overall plant processes.
- Manage and oversee major mechanical projects, including upgrades, installations, and process improvements.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
- Procure and manage spare parts and tools, ensuring adequate inventory levels and cost control.
Training & Development:
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements, incorporating relevant innovations into departmental practices.
