This organization supports projects to combat hunger, poverty and injustice in 31 countries on four continents. It also provides emergency relief for victims of natural disasters and armed conflict worldwide and supports the welfare and social work of the Reformed Churches in Eastern Europe and in the Middle East. In Switzerland, the organization champions the rights and the integration of refugees and socially disadvantaged people. It’s a member of the ACT Alliance.

GENERAL CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND :

This organization has been active in Bangladesh since 1975 and is registered by the NGO Affairs Bureau. Its development cooperation department mostly focusses on projects for ethnic minorities (Dalits and Adivasi) in Northern Bangladesh. Humanitarian aid interventions in the Rohingya response are managed directly by the Humanitarian Aid Department from an own office in Cox’s Bazar and field offices in camps.

Since 2017 it implements Rohingya projects with an overall volume of some 6 Million USD. Since 2019 the Humanitarian Aid office based in Cox’s Bazar directly implementing the Shelter and WASH projects. Currently, the international Organization for Migration (IOM) provides in-kind support for implementing shelter project in FDMN camps.

ROLE PURPOSE :

  • The Store Keeper ensures that the receipt, storage, safe- keeping of goods used by the organization or under the responsibility of the organization, He/she participate in the drafting and monitoring of all the administrative documents related to stored items.
  • MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
  • Main responsibilities Tasks
  • Management of storage spaces • Monitor the storage facilities and infrastructure both from inside and outside: locate damages and propose the necessary repairs.
  • Supervise cleaning and regular disinfection of storage space.
  • Introduce protection against insects and pests inside the storage spaces and apply treatment upon the first sign of infection.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation of the spaces.
  • Monitor the quality of the products at the time of receipt. Put aside non-compliant or infected products and report to the line manager.
  • Regularly monitor the quality of the products during storage.
  • Establish staff, transport and equipment forecasts required for loading/unloading, transport to delivery points.
  • Supervise the team of daily workers charged with storage activities.
  • Draft or complete dispatch and receipt documents in compliance with its standards.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing equipment’s.
  • Maintain update inventory lists and assets lists. Regular update stock card & Bin card.
  • Participate in monthly stored goods and equipment’s and reconciliation with what should be in stock.
  • Keep the regular stock register updated.
  • Field Car Movement Planning & Tracking
  • Prepare and follow up a maintenance schedule for generator with all the relevant reports.
  • Assist to Procurement related work as logistic officer’s instructions.
  • Every supplier’s material receiving ensure Receive Note/GRN, Delivery Challan & Share the all-relevant documents to Logistics & procurement Department.
  • Keep tracking Supplier truck & Altas Truck in Every day.
  • Always check Fire extinguisher & update line manager before date expired.
  • Ensure office power supply and other resources (Generator, IPS, Solar Power, Wifi)
  • Support camp level procurement process like small purchase, collecting quartation, challan, way bill GRN etc.)
  • Ensure documents and signature with bill
  • Send daily, weekly, monthly report to manager on time (Daily task, Inventory, Asset & PR register)
  • Safety and security
  • Share any security information with the line manager and HAD.
  • Provide timely incident report to the line manager and HAD.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organization information and documents strictly and sincerely.
  • General
  • Delivery high quality results in the line with the terms of reference agreed in advance to do this in a way which maintains the reputation of the Humanitarian department.
  • Comply with organizational polices and practice with respect to code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • To perform such other responsibilities as agreed with your line manager.
