Job Description: We seek a talented, experienced sub-editor (English) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for news, and the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content. As a Sub Editor, you will be responsible for editing and proofreading articles, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and maintaining the highest standards of journalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Edit and proofread news articles, features, and other content for clarity, accuracy, and coherence.
Ensure all content adheres to our editorial guidelines and style.
Work closely with reporters and writers to refine their submissions.
Verify facts, dates, and statistics to ensure accuracy.
Write headlines, subheadings, and captions that are engaging and informative.
Manage the content flow and ensure timely publication.
Stay updated with current events and news trends.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Sub Editor, Copy Editor, or similar role in a news organization.
Exceptional command of the English language, with excellent grammar and writing skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot errors quickly.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and online content management systems.
Strong understanding of news and current affairs.

Additional Skills:

Proficiency in using editing tools and software.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
