Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science & Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

Experience

    • At least 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Banks, Telecommunication, Multinational Companies, Garments, Textile, Group of Companies

Additional Requirements

  • Experience of AS400 administration, Security, OS upgrades, PowerHA, and etc.
  • Experience with iSeries V7R1 and newer
  • Experience in System Administration experience with JD Edwards One World or EnterpriseOne (package builds, security administration, OMW, etc.)
  • Installation & Upgrade experience with J2EE application servers (WebLogic Application Server)
  • Installation and Upgrade experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on Windows or AS/400
  • Strong knowledge of networking, TCP/IP and Microsoft Windows Server Systems
  • Experience with HMC for pSeries
  • Experience with Lpars on VIOS
  • Experience with BRMS backups on AS400
  • Strong knowledge in the structured query language (SQL)

Responsibilities & Context

The system administrator will work in a global team supporting Gildan’s ERP systems and iSeries as400 mainframes. This person will work in the team to support the various systems running on the AS400 mainframe that are business critical as well as maintain close working relationships with various stakeholders to analyze and support these systems. In this role, you will play a key role in preventing and resolving production disruptions, manage risk, improve support effectiveness, and continually improve technical processes.

  • Working with Business Analysts and Developers to help support the applications running on AS400
  • Supporting Enterprise One package builds and Deployments
  • Support of hardware (pSeries, HMC, VIOS, Storage, Backups, Etc.)
  • Support of various applications that are critical for the As400 OS (Robot, Cilasoft, PowerHa, Etc.)
  • Responsible for testing PowerHA Failovers
  • Participate in Bi Yearly Disaster Recovery Tests.
  • Work with Security team for various SOX, Audit items, etc.
  • Keeping systems up to date (PTF, OS upgrades, Firmware updates, etc.)
  • Will be required to be in Rotational Shifts with occasional 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
