- Knowledge of Internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP)Expertise in physical layer technologies (Optical, SDH, PDH, DWDM, Radio Link)
- Strong understanding of layer-2 and layer-3 networks Proficiency in MPLS, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, VTP, Spanning Tree Protocol Experience with DNS, Proxy, DHCP, Web Servers, MySQL, FTP Server, MRTG, Mail Servers in Linux/Windows Knowledge of SNMP, Netflow, and related protocols with SSL/IPSec VPNs ability
- Experience in networking organizations (ISP/IIG/Telco) in relevant roles
- Relevant certifications (MCSE, JNCIA, JNCIS-SEC, CCNA, CCNP, CCIP, CCSP) are highly desirable
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Energetic and capable of working with minimal supervision
Responsibilities & Context
- Provide expert guidance on network engineering and administration.
- Analyze, design, install, and configure network infrastructure.
- Integrate new services and support network expansion.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend security enhancements.
- Resolve issues and report findings with staff and customers.
- Document procedures and analysis findings.
- Coordinate with departments on customer and network issues.
- Assist in deploying network devices.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and site staff for maintenance.
- Monitor, tune, and report on network performance.
