• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Good sense of commerciality.
• Knowledge of all quality control and assurance techniques, fabric and garment performance, chemical and wear trial procedure, ergonomics, work place engineering, 5S and work simplifying techniques, AQL sampling and auditing skills, productivity improvement techniques, garment breakdowns, machines and their features, material handling systems and production systems, line balancing techniques, the different types of fabric, dying, printing, embellishments and finishing techniques and handling methods.
• Needs to be very good at solving complex problems, communicating and managing many products.
• Experience working as part of a quality and technical Team and have great attention to detail.
• Experience working with many factories and finding solutions.
• Strong decision-making skill & strong team building skill.
• Working knowledge of relevant software tools like CAD, ERP, PDM, WFX PLM.
• Excellent English communication skill
• Ability to interact professionally with diverse colleagues, clients, and customers culturally and linguistically

Responsibilities & Context

The Quality & Technical Manager maintains effective quality assurance and control procedures with regard to product and material quality to ensure that the quality requirements of the customers are effectively met. The incumbent is also responsible for internal quality evaluation, root cause analysis, and factory technical evaluation to assess and develop processes ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.

• Assessing bulk deliveries for product quality, correct labelling against Gold seal samples.
• Sample management of internal samples and product specifications to be passed to our internal QC team.
• Drafting up Shipment approval specifications using the correct required documents and issue to suppliers.
• Work closely with product Tech & Buying team to ensure the steady flow of goods through the warehouse is achieved in a timely manner.
• Proactively arrange meetings with relevant factories to discuss any information & action points if continues faults being found.
• Manage the assessment and reporting on supplier’s performance at QC check stage, with a key focus on pass/ fail/ commercial approvals for each factory Report to the wider business if any failure would prevent the goods being shipped on time.
• Having monthly meets with the other quality managers and all QA’s as part of their development, to discuss issues and resolved and review all styles from other factories.
• Work with the factory team to resolve any deliveries that Fail AQL checks. Updating AQL reports to be shared with UK team.
• Able to spot problems/issues and proactively seek a way to resolve them Work with the factories to improvement online checks/ AQL plans/ corrective action, with clear goals and requirements to support improve bulk production- monitor and report on progress.
• Work with any 3rd party QC inspections if this is required by our customer before goods leave the factories.
• Work as the link between inline/AQL issues and the product Tech/buying team ensuring bulk issues are highlighted and communicated for future season improvements.
