Responsibilities & Context
• Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples’ centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 54 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
• As partnership with Plan International Bangladesh, ESDO is implementing the Integrated Sponsorship Project (ISP) in Jaldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari district. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare a details implementation plan for the project as per the budget.
• Ensure proper implementation of the Integrated Sponsorship Programme activities maintaining all standard operating procedures.
• Maintain strong liaison with Upazila and District level Govt. department of Women’s Affairs, youth development, Social welfare, primary and secondary education and Upazila chairman, UP, CSO and other stakeholders to engage in program activities.
• Capacity building for Sponsorship of Children forums, Children and Youth Network, Youth Advisory Panel, member of National Children Force, Union & Upazila level child marriage prevention committee and stakeholders through providing training, workshops and meetings.
• Facilitated Upazila and district Social Welfare Officer to organize Child Welfare Board Meetings regularly.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and technical support to the field supervisors for effective activity implementation and event management.
• Oversee the overall program quality under his/her jurisdiction.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and facilitation skills in a gender-responsive manner.
• Spend 80% of time on field visits and conduct training as per plan for the targeted program participants.
• Must have prominent experience in preparing activity/event reports, monthly, quarterly & annual reports, and case stories/success stories and submit project manager promptly.
• Documenting project data and information at the Project Office following the data privacy protocol.
• Having an attitude to work under pressure.
• Must comply with the organization and donor’s safeguarding. Child protection and PSHEA policy for children and program participants. He/she must ensure a clear understanding of safeguarding policy to the project staff, key stakeholders and associates, plan risk assessment & mitigation before starting any children and program participant-engaged activities, and ensure reporting & responding to CP & safeguarding incident cases if happen.
• Consider gender equality in organizing every program or activity in the community
• And should have the mindset to perform any additional duties assigned by the organization
• Safeguarding knowledge and applying in all aspects of the programme as necessary and reporting mechanism, assessment and risk management and ensuring in the programme cycle.
