  • Share the monthly target plan withthe prevention team at thc beginning of each month and track target vs achievement.
  • Ensure effective implementation of PSS, Life Skill sesslon, Girl Shine and SAFE curricula at MPCAC and Community Centre activities.
  • Able to speak & understand the Rohingya/ Chittagonian Language.

Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of Technical Manager-Child Protection for implementing ‘Education and Protection for Refugee Children (EPRC) Project’ funded by UNHCR, located at Cox’s Bazar District.

Key area of Performance/ Responsibility/ Accountability:

  • Provide technical and management leadership to the child protection program following the child protection guidelines and CODEC policies.
  • In close collaboration with the Project Coordinator, Technical Manager-Child Protection will play a lead role in developing a Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) for each year and update quarterly.
  • Ensure regular field visits and share feedback with way forwarded to the Project Coordinator.
  • Share the monthly target plan with the prevention team at the beginning of each month and track target vs achievement.
  • Prepare all the necessary preparations to celebrate different UN-designated days in all the MPCAC and compile the report to share with the Project Coordinator in due time.
  • Ensure all planned child protection activities are implemented on time, within the budget, according to quality standards and as per the monthly plan.·
  • Identify needs and gaps in programming and proactively suggest new activities to enhance the protection activities.
  • Ensure effective implementation of PSS, Life Skill session, Girl Shine and SAFE curricula at MPCAC and Community Centre activities.
  • Assist CP staff in designing & conducting training meetings/sessions with CBCPC and community leaders.
  • Responsible for coordination and close supervision of Prevention staff.
  • Program design for PSS activities, adolescent club including life skill sessions, Girl Shine, SAFE & livelihood training.·
  • Ensure the proper activities of MPCAC adhere to psychosocial intervention.
  • Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, and dialogues with government & Civil societies on child protection issues.
  • Adhere to the child protection program within the guidelines of Child Protection Minimum Standard & SOP.
  • Submit monthly work plan and accomplishment report to the Project Coordinator.
  • Ensure the work plan, analyse the accomplishment report and provide required feedback to the Center Manager.
  • Ensure all logistic support (toys and books for the library, charts, audio and visual material etc.) for MPC and AdC.
  • Represent CODEC child protection in different forums according to the direction and engagement of the Project Coordinator.

    Monitoring and Supervision:

  • Evaluate (in collaboration with the Project Coordinator) the new situations or of the existing program to guarantee high-quality intervention.·
  • Supervise the CP prevention team to conduct monitoring and evaluation activities regularly to identify gaps and challenges as well as to ensure the meaningful impact of the CP approaches.·
  • Extensive field visits to MPCACs & CC to close monitoring, minimum 3 days a week and provide hands-on support to the CP staff.
  • Submit weekly progress report/field visit report to the project coordinator.

    Reporting & Documentation:

  • Assist the Project Coordinator with qualitative reporting (Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly/ Event Report) to the Donor and 5W report to the sub-sector.
  • All kinds of documents relating to MPCAC activity need to be properly documented and ensure beneficiary data is based on AGD.
  • Submit Monthly Staff positions to the Project Coordinator.
  • Assist in preparing any other report based on the requirement of the donor and project.

    Capacity Building & Training Conduction:

  • Identify training needs and develop a yearly training plan.
  • Conduct capacity development training for CP prevention staff.
  • Support the Project Coordinator in identifying, designing, and facilitating training on CPIE, PSS, GS&SAFE, Life skills etc.
  • Capacity development of outreach and PSS Volunteer.
  • Conduct camp-based capacity-building training with community people, CBCPC, Community leaders and stakeholders on Child Rights and protection.

Module Development:

  • Develop idea and objective of the child protection program & need-based capacity building training module for CP staff and stakeholders.·
  • Develop a Psychosocial Mechanism for MPCAC intervention and operation·
  • Develop and revise different CP modules like CQA, Awareness session, Positive parenting, and CBCPC session.Communication & Coordination:
  • Attend all coordination meetings and share meeting results/findings to the management.
  • Attend sector meetings (Child Protection Sub Sector, GiHA) and represent CODEC child protection intervention and update the Project Coordinator about the new decision.

Safegurding and PSEA:

  • S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
