  • Ability to manage necessary processes effectively, and work under pressure with maintain deadlines.
  • Having good computer skills in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet browsing.
  • Ability to drive motorcycle with valid license.

Responsibilities & Context

DASCOH Foundation seeks a vibrant Technical Officer specializing in Agriculture for the THRIVE project. The THRIVE project has been implemented in Naogoan and Chapainawanganj districts from January 2024 to December 2027/ 2028 with the financial and technical support provided by HEKS/EPER Bangladesh. HEKS/EPER Bangladesh endeavours to enhance the resilience of Dalits, Adivasi, and other marginalized communities in these areas by creating conducive environments for increased access to rights, entitlements, and socio-economic opportunities. Key aspects of the THRIVE project involve engaging participants in livelihood initiatives, facilitating advocacy initiatives with the government departments and other concerned stakeholders. The Technical Officer-Agriculture (TO-Agri) of DASCOH is to maintain close communication with the Project Coordinator of THRIVE Project. Under the guidance of the Technical Officer (TO) of HEKS/EPER, s/he will actively participate in developing Yearly Plan of Operation (YPOs) process and ensuring integration of agriculture-related activities. The TO-Agri encourages project participants to initiate various agriculture-based Income Generating Activities (IGAs) and gathers technical information from governmental and non-governmental sources for project implementation. The incumbent will also map out agriculture-related services provided by agencies and stakeholders, fostering collaboration. Additionally, the TO-Agri facilitates meetings, orientations, and trainings relevant to agriculture at all project locations. Monitoring progress through door-to-door visits to households and also report to supervisors for feedback and guidance. Regular coordination with administrative and technical supervisors ensures effective project management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain close communication with the THRIVE Project Coordinator of DASCOH.
  • Upon guidance of TO (Agriculture) HEKS/EPER, actively participate in the THRIVE Project YPO development and make sure that agriculture (mainly crop, poultry and livestock base) related project activities are incorporated as integral part of YPO of project.
  • Encourage and create scopes for project participant HHs to initiate different agriculture base IGAs.
  • Mobilize/gather/collect agriculture related technical information from different government-nongovernment sources and utilize those in quality implementation of partners project upon guidance of TO-Agriculture, HEKS.
  • Mapping of different agriculture related services providing GO-NGO agencies (DAE, DLO etc.) and other related stakeholders in the project locations of DASCOH and build linkage /coordination with them for their better assistance in implementing the THRIVE project.
  • Facilitated project participants meeting, orientation, training, discussion relevant to agriculture at all 2 districts of project locations.
  • Pay door to door visits of project participant HHs, monitor progress and success of project interventions and report to technical supervisor asking for feedback and guidance for further improvement.
  • Maintain regular coordination and communication with both the supervisor at DASCOH (administrative) and HEKS (technical).
