Responsibilities & Context
• Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples’ centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 upazilas under 54 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
• As partnership with Plan International Bangladesh, ESDO is implementing the Integrated Sponsorship Project (ISP) in Jaldhaka Upazila of Nilphamari district. ESDO is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the position.
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare a project implementation plan and break it up on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to implement activities following the quality standard.
• Establish alternative education centres at the community level through community participation and mobilizing local government.
• Select qualitative youth community volunteers and guide them to conduct children surveys and enroll in alternative education centre.
• The candidate must have experience to identify the learning gaps of the learner and provide technical guidance for overcoming the gaps and children will achieve their learning outcomes.
• The Technical Officer (TO) will be responsible for preparing a training plan and conducting training for youth community volunteers of the alternative education centre.
• Conduct day-to-day monitoring of the alternative education centre and track the progress of learners and identify the gap; provide technical feedback to youth community volunteers for further improvement.
• She/he will be responsible for implementing targeted activities as per the project implementation plan.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly progress reports both quality and quantitative and submit the Technical Coordinator.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of education curriculum and skills to prepare training material and modules and the teaching-learning process.
• 80% time spent implementing field-level project activities and 20% time spent for desk work to prepare work plans, internet browsing, communication and reporting.
• Organize and conduct parent meetings to discuss different development issues e.g. demerits of child marriage, adolescent sexual reproductive health, comprehensive sexuality education and continued education of their children.
• Having an attitude to work under pressure.
• Must comply with the organization and donor’s safeguarding. Child protection and PSHEA policy for children and program participants. He/she must ensure a clear understanding of safeguarding policy to the project staff, key stakeholders and associates, plan risk assessment & mitigation before starting any children and program participant-engaged activities, and ensure reporting & responding to CP & safeguarding incident cases if happen.
• Consider gender equality in organizing every program or activity in the community
• And should have the mindset to perform any additional duties assigned by the organization
• Safeguarding knowledge and applying in all aspects of the programme as necessary and reporting mechanism, assessment and risk management and ensuring in the programme cycle.
• Identify project risk and mitigation plan
