- PROTTYASHI, A social development organization has been working for the development of disadvantaged population of the country since its establishment and currently is going to implement a project to increase the resilience of the host community people and Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar district by improving food security, reducing disaster vulnerability, and increasing social cohesion. In partnership with WFP, PROTTYASHI is committed to strengthening the resilience of the Rohingya and host communities through sustainable food systems, livelihood support, and environmental initiativesas part of the Cox’s Bazar Resilience Programme. A key aspect of this initiative is to promote climate-resilient agriculture, market linkage and alternative livelihood opportunities to enhance self-sufficiency among the beneficiaries.
- To ensure improved food security and livelihood for the affected host and local communities of Cox’s Bazar helping them meet nutritional requirement in an environmentally sustainable manner, PROTTYASHI is going to implement “Livelihood” Activity of WFP Cox’s Bazar Resilience Programme in Ramu Upazila/Sub-district. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Technical Officer (Livestock) for the Project and encourages the persons enthusiastic to contribute to the increased resilience of the humanitarian crisis affected host and local communities in Bangladesh. This position will be responsible for ensuring successful livestock interventions of the project through facilitating technical supports and field mobilization.
Reporting
- Technical Officer (Livestock) will report to Project Coordinator of PROTTYASHI. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide training and guidance to beneficiaries on sustainable livestock rearing practices, including proper feeding, housing, and disease management
- Support the distribution of essential inputs such as vaccines, medicines, and high-quality livestock breeds, ensuring beneficiaries adopt best practices for livestock care
- Conduct training sessions on livestock management, with a focus on improving poultry health and productivity through climate-adaptive techniques
- Train beneficiaries in disease prevention, vaccination, and effective breeding practices to enhance livestock resilience to climate change impacts
- Regularly monitor the health and productivity of livestock and provide technical support to beneficiaries in the field.
- Identify common livestock-related challenges and offer solutions, such as addressing disease outbreaks or poor nutrition
- Oversee the distribution of livestock-related agricultural inputs, including vaccines and medicines for poultry and coordinating with local paravet and Department of Livestock Officials.
- Ensure beneficiaries receive and apply inputs effectively to improve livestock health and farm productivity.
- Work closely with lead farmers who are selected to serve as focal points for livestock rearing in the community. Provide them with technical training to disseminate knowledge to other farmers
- Collaborate with other project officers to ensure an integrated approach to agricultural and livestock support within the community.
- Provide follow-up support to farmers after training, ensuring that they are effectively applying the knowledge gained.
- Collect data on the impact of the trainings and input support on livestock productivity and farmer livelihoods.
- Increase resilience of livestock to climate-related risks through improved health and management practices.
- Successful engagement and mentoring of lead farmers as community focal points for livestock development.
- Carry out any additional tasks as needed for the project.

Compensation & Other Benefits
Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 56,753 BDT with contributory provident fund 2830 BDT, monthly bonus 5417 BDT and regular traveling and communication bill.
