Responsibilities & Context
Job Purpose
The Trainer – EDT will be responsible for conducting Entrepreneurship Development Training for selected participants under The Earth Society programmes. The role will focus on building participants knowledge and confidence in business idea generation, business planning, financial literacy, market analysis, customer handling, record keeping, business management, and enterprise growth. The trainer will also support mentoring, follow-up, documentation, and reporting related to entrepreneurship development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Training Planning and Delivery
Conduct Entrepreneurship Development Training sessions according to the approved curriculum, module, session plan, and project guidelines.
Prepare training session plans, training materials, exercises, case studies, group activities, and practical learning tools.
Deliver participatory and practical training on business idea development, business planning, market assessment, product or service selection, customer identification, costing, pricing, profit calculation, record keeping, and business growth.
Use interactive methods such as group work, role play, case discussion, business simulation, market visit, and practical assignments to improve participant learning.
Ensure that training sessions are inclusive, engaging, and understandable for youth, women, and marginalized participants.
Entrepreneurship Development Support
Support participants to identify feasible business ideas based on local market demand, personal skills, available resources, and income potential.
Guide participants in preparing basic business plans, start-up plans, sales plans, marketing strategies, and financial projections.
Provide mentoring support to potential entrepreneurs on enterprise selection, investment planning, business registration, supplier linkage, customer management, and risk management.
Encourage participants to adopt ethical business practices, climate-conscious enterprise ideas, and sustainable livelihood approaches.
Support participants in understanding entrepreneurship challenges and developing practical solutions.
Financial Literacy and Business Management
Train participants on basic financial literacy, savings, budgeting, costing, pricing, profit-loss calculation, cash flow, and simple bookkeeping.
Guide participants on maintaining sales records, purchase records, expense records, inventory records, and customer records.
Provide basic orientation on access to finance, microfinance institutions, banking services, digital financial services, and relevant government or private sector support services.
Support participants to understand responsible borrowing, investment planning, and financial decision-making.
Market Linkage and Business Follow-up
Coordinate with project teams to identify local market opportunities, buyers, suppliers, service providers, employers, financial institutions, and business support organizations.
Support participants in developing market linkages, supplier networks, and customer outreach strategies.
Conduct follow-up with trained participants to track business start-up progress, enterprise growth, income changes, challenges, and support needs.
Assist the programme team in identifying successful entrepreneurs, collecting case stories, and documenting enterprise development outcomes.
Participant Assessment and Monitoring
Conduct pre-training and post-training assessments to measure participant learning progress.
Monitor participant attendance, engagement, performance, business plan completion, and readiness for enterprise development support.
Identify participants who need additional coaching, mentoring, or referral support.
Provide feedback to participants on their business ideas, business plans, and practical assignments.
Support the project team in verifying entrepreneurship progress, business start-up status, and enterprise-related evidence.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of training attendance, session plans, assessment results, participant feedback, business plans, photographs, and training materials.
Prepare training reports, participant progress updates, business plan summaries, mentoring notes, and follow-up reports.
Collect and document success stories, case studies, field observations, and entrepreneurship development evidence.
Submit reports and required documents to the supervisor within the given timeline.
Ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, organized, and aligned with The Earth Society reporting standards.
Coordination and Communication
Coordinate with the Upazila Manager, Cluster Coordinator, Enterprise Development Officer, Community Mobilizer, Training Center team, and other project staff for smooth training implementation.
Communicate regularly with participants, community representatives, local entrepreneurs, business associations, and relevant stakeholders.
Support training-related logistics, venue preparation, material distribution, attendance collection, and participant follow-up.
Represent The Earth Society professionally during training sessions, field visits, market visits, and stakeholder meetings.
