Responsibilities & Context

Background

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) plans to conduct a three-days training on green skill for the project staff. The training aims to initially educate project staff on green skills, enabling them to subsequently train youth leaders as young climate activists at the community level. The goal is to promote green skills and support the development of community-led adaptation plans focused on enhancing the capacities of young individuals in identifying green skills, generating business ideas, managing businesses, and accessing financial support. This training is envisioned as a transformative experience, empowering aspiring young entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive sustainable change. By increasing civic engagement and fostering social cohesion, it will contribute to employment, entrepreneurship, and conflict reduction.

Objectives

To educate and raise awareness among youth clients on green skills, IRC will organize a Training of Trainers (ToT) event to enhance the capacity of partner staff, enabling them to disseminate and cascade the training to selected youths and encourage them to develop green business ideas within their communities. The aim is to generate green skill business ideas for youth and capacitate them by providing a three-day training. This process will help youth choose green businesses and develop their ideas, enabling them to pitch them in a well-organized manner.

Scope of work

  • Facilitate a three-day Training on green skill following guidelines and module, contextualized to the ground reality of Cox Bazar host community impacted by the influx.
  • The project staff are capacitated to identify, business establishment, manage, and promotion of green business among the youth clients.
  • The project staffs are able to support youth climate activist disseminating green skill business opportunity among the other youth in the community.
  • The relevant private sector and governments initiatives will be informed to the participants for scaling up green business initiatives.
  • Benefit, risk and potentiality of green skill in the Cox’s Bazar context.
  • Contextualized green skill training modules following the Cox’s Bazar context and scope.
  • The Facilitator/s is expected to produce the following deliverables:
  • Submit the detailed training schedule and plan.
  • Submit the contextualized green skill training module (Bangla) considering the youth client.
  • Facilitate three-day training with due standards.
  • Submit the training report.

Period and Place of Performance

  • The total number of days for this consultancy service will be 03 (three) days weeks between 07-09 July 2024.
  • Consultation fee will be provided in the consultant bank account after submitting the final training report within a week.
  • Training will be held at Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
  • Consultant will comply with the IRC procurement policy and ready to submit necessary papers.
  • Consultancy team will comply with the safeguarding policy of IRC and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • IRC will arrange the training with the relevant cost of venue, food, and logistics.
  • No accommodation, food & transportation will be provided by IRC to the trainer.
