Education

Bachelor/Honors
Bachelor`s degree / Graduation with minimum 5 years of practical experience in the relevant trade or Diploma in Engineering in the relevant trade is preferred.

Experience

At least 2 years
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO, Development Agency

Additional Requirements

Minimum 2- 3 years of experience in technical training, teaching, or instructor roles, and practical field experience in the relevant trade or occupation.
Experience in TVET, skills development, or competency- based training programs will be preferred.
Experience in gender and inclusion
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical knowledge and practical expertise in the relevant trade.
Good facilitation, communication, and demonstration skills.
Understanding of competency- based training methodologies and assessment systems.
Ability to manage practical training sessions and workshop environments effectively.
Basic computer and reporting skills.
Candidates with proficiency in local dialects/languages of the respective working areas will be given preference.

Travel Requirements:

The position requires frequent travel to project sites within the assigned locations.

Responsibilities & Context

BITA (Bangladesh Institute of Theatre Arts), a non-governmental organization, has been administering development initiatives focusing on human rights, cultural upliftment, and poverty alleviation since 1994.

The basis of development intervention in BITA is the rights-based approach. BITA has sequentially developed an empowerment process which starts its journey from building relationships with communities through communication, supporting them in raising of their awareness level, facilitating them in transforming their trust into internalization capacity to visualize self-development, making them confident to become actors from observers.

Background: BITA aims at economic engagement of the NEET youth, especially women, in rural and semi-urban areas of the Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar Districts in Bangladesh through a potential project. The Scope of work of this project is establishing and managing Village Level Training Centers (VLTCs) and implementing associated activities (community engagement, beneficiary/trade selection, training delivery, employment support, enabling environment) across the Chattogram & Cox’s Bazar District’s selected upazilas, leveraging the collective strengths and expertise of all relevant institutions.

Position

Trainer/Instructor ( Trade Specific)

Work Location: Project implementation area as assigned by BITA, Union- level across Chattogram & Cox’s Bazar District’s selected upazilas.

Position Summary

The Trainer/Instructor (Trade Specific) will deliver competency- based technical skills training to project beneficiaries in accordance with approved curriculum, training standards, and business requirements. The position will ensure effective learning, practical skill development, and safe training environments to enhance trainees’ employability and technical competencies.

Job Duration: 5 Months, renewable as per trainees’ selected trade. (Note: Recruitment for this position and the final contract are contingent upon the SCI-led Joint Venture being awarded the project contract by the Client.)

Job Responsibilities

Technical Training Delivery:
Conduct trade-specific theoretical and practical training sessions following approved curriculum and training schedules.
Deliver competency- based training using appropriate training methodologies, including demonstrations, hands-on practice, group work, and lectures.
Ensure trainees develop practical technical skills aligned with industry and labor market requirements.
Support trainees in improving technical performance, productivity, and workplace readiness.
Training Planning and Preparation:
Prepare lesson plans, session plans, training materials, job sheets, and practical exercises.
Ensure availability and proper use of training tools, equipment, and materials during sessions.
Maintain training attendance records, assessment documents, and trainee progress reports.
Support training assessments, practical evaluations, and competency verification processes.
Safety and Training Environment:
Ensure occupational health and safety measures are followed during all practical and technical training sessions.
Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and proper management of training facilities, equipment, and workshops.
Promote safe working practices and awareness among trainees.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor trainee participation, attendance, learning progress, and performance throughout the training period.
Provide regular updates and reports to supervisors regarding training progress and challenges.
Support documentation, MIS reporting, and record keeping related to training activities.
Stakeholder and Beneficiary Support:
Provide mentoring and guidance to trainees regarding technical skills, workplace behavior, and career opportunities.
Coordinate with project staff and supervisors to ensure effective training implementation and beneficiary support.
Support placement, apprenticeship, or enterprise- related activities when required.
Safeguarding:
Uphold and promote the organization’s safeguarding policies to ensure the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults engaged in our activities.
Immediately report any concerns, suspicions, or incidents of safeguarding breaches in line with the organization’s reporting procedures.
Maintain professional boundaries and conduct that fosters a safe and respectful environment for all beneficiaries, colleagues, and stakeholders.
