- Strong understanding of market dynamics, value chains, agricultural marketing, and sustainable agricultural practices.
- Excellent communication, training, and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency in English and Bengali; knowledge of Rohingya or Chittagonian dialects is an asset.
Responsibilities & Context
Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement a project in Bhasanchar involving vermicompost and vegetable production.
The vermicompost initiative will produce eco-friendly fertilizer, create jobs, and enhance environmental sustainability through waste reduction and soil improvement.
The vegetable production component, focused on pumpkin cultivation, aims to boost food security and nutrition while linking refugee farmers to E-voucher shops and fresh food markets.
Refugees will receive training, cash grants, and technical support. The project will initially run for 2.5 months, with coordination efforts involving camp administration and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for project beneficiaries on various livelihood activities, including vegetable production, upcycling, vermi-composting, and food processing.
- Conduct market assessments to identify potential income generation opportunities and establish sustainable market linkages for project beneficiaries.
- Facilitate connections between smallholder farmer groups, E-voucher shops, fresh food traders, and other market players to enhance market access.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and market linkage activities, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports on training outcomes, market opportunities, and beneficiary progress, focusing on sustainability and scalability.
- Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and private sector partners to enhance market access and promote sustainable livelihood practices.
- Should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
- Ensure the safety of team members (with respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation.
- Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding to establish a safe working environment.
