- Well understanding about gender diversity and gender mainstreaming approach
- Good writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla.
- Must have computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SPSS.
- At least two (2) years of experience to drive Motorcycle and have valid motorcycle driving license.
Responsibilities & Context
Job Context:
Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 September 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. The organization is going to implement a project named ‘USAID Bangladesh America Maitree Activity(BAMA)” in Bangladesh at Khulna and Sylhet districts. The project will be implemented by the support of BRAC and Financed by ‘United State Agency for International Development (USAID)’. BTS is going to recruit a Training Officer for the mentioned project the position’s desk office will be at Sylhet and Khulna.

Job Description / Responsibilities :
The Project Officer is the responsible for Child Protection including supervising and supporting the quality implementation of activities related to community-based child protection in the project area. He or she is responsible for managing or leading on activities with children groups, Community Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) and other community people under the supervision of the respective line managers.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
(a) Capacity Building and Project Implementation:
Conduct capacity needs assessment of the children, youth, parents, member of marginalized community and community influential on promoting child rights and getting access in legislative structures to protect child marriage
Support to develop capacity building tools, guidelines, policies, modules and materials related to child rights violation and child marriage
Assist to develop and/or adopt contextualized training modules and awareness module based on findings of capacity building needs assessment
Assist to conduct Upazilla and district level inception meetings to share the project goal, objective and activities.
Assist to conduct awareness campaigns in the community and school settings to prevent child marriage and protect children from abuse and exploitation including risks in the online platforms that are related to child marriage.
Assist to Telecast awareness message through local TV/cable network regarding child marriage, child abuse and GBV prevention issues
Provide technical assistance to facilitate online campaign named “We will not do child marriage” with the involvement of adolescent and youth
Assist to design IEC materials (sticker, poster, khudba guide, awareness message related calendar, etc) for awareness activities
Conduct training on GBV, gender, child marriage and child protection related laws and policies, situation monitoring, service referral, communication and leadership in relevance with child rights protection and prevention of child marriage
Conduct Life skills training for Children and Youth forum members to protect themselves from any kind of hard and prevention of child marriage, and increase participation in the social decision-making process
Conduct training for the member of student Cabinet on GBV, gender, child marriage and child protection related laws and policies, at risk children monitoring, service referral, communication and leadership in relevance with child rights protection and prevention of child marriage
Conduct training for the members of men and boys group members on GBV, gender, child marriage and child protection related laws and policies, situation monitoring, service referral
Conduct training for the community influential including religious leaders on child rights, protection, GBV, child marriage related laws and policies, and their role and responsibilities in prevention of child marriage
Conduct training for UP/C.C.W level Child Marriage Prevention committee and LEBs on child rights, protection, GBV related laws and policies, and their role and responsibilities in prevention of child marriage
Assist to conduct workshop to share the good practices of local administration named “Education first, stop child marriage” with representatives of local government and local administrations.
Conduct capacity building training on addressing child rights violation and child marriage issues and respond mechanism and reporting process
Assist to organize national level round table discussions on the misinterpretation of Clause 19 of the Child Marriage Restraint Act, 2017.
Assist to conduct sharing meetings with local government and local administration to hand over the list of marginalized children and their families identified by the adolescent and youth group, CBCPC and student council for safety net support
Assist to conduct Upazilla and districts level workshops to identify best practices of the project and scope of scale-up and continuation by the key stakeholders
(b) Coordination and Communication:
Develop network with the Local government, Local Administration, CSO network, and NGOs to implement the project,
Initiate advocacy at local level.
(c) Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation.
Assist to conduct regular monitoring at selected project area with youth and women LEBs and authorities,
Ensure quality of process documentation,
Assist to finalize monthly, quarterly, half annual, annual and project completion report of the project.
Others: Be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.
