Special Skills & Experiences:

  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in education program, training, or teaching(priority to be given to school-level English teachers).
  • Prior experience in delivering teacher training and professional development programs isessential.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment practices, and educational pedagogy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Understanding of the Rohingya / Chittagonian dialect is also preferred.
  • Certification on IELTS with a minimum six or CEFR score B2 level is preferred.

Responsibilities & Context

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the mentined position from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing ‘Education and Protection for Refugee Children (EPRC) Project’ funded by UNHCR, located at Ukhiya and Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar District.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Support in English Language Learning program:

  • Conduct TNAs for the teachers to conduct gap analyses, design innovative trainingmodules, and support activities as needed.
  • Collecting online and offline resources for the teachers and learners to ensure the qualityimplementation of the project.
  • Conduct interactive and engaging training sessions and innovative teachers’ professionaldevelopment activities to equip teachers with essential skills for implementing theEnglish Version curriculum.
  • Support teachers in understanding lesson plans, teaching materials, and classroomactivities for student learning outcomes.
  • Continue providing regular support and mentorship and model best practices in teachingand learning to teachers to enhance their pedagogical and language skills.
  • Assist teachers in designing and conducting formative and summative assessments.

2. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Build a strong network with the teachers and work as a one-stop solution hub for theirneeds
  • Collaborate and communicate with all Headteachers, teachers’ learning circles, and peergroup teachers to ensure the planned recommended activities are implemented.
  • Collaborate and communicate with educational institutions, government bodies, and otherstakeholders to promote the adoption and implementation of the curriculum.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, andprovide updates on curriculum implementation.

3. Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting:

  • Observe the teaching-learning process and provide constructive feedback to teachers andHeadteachers to improve the quality of the teaching process.
  • Conduct regular supervision and monitoring to identify areas of improvement andsupport the project management and technical heads in redesigning the interventions toensure quality implementation of the curriculum.
  • Document all training sessions, participant feedback, school-based teaching learningcircles, and teachers’ linguistic progress.
  • Prepare reports and presentations about training outcomes, teachers’ linguistic progress,challenges, and recommendations.
  • Provide timely updates to management and stakeholders on the progress andachievements of teachers, students, and the teaching-learning process.

PSEA & Child Safeguarding:

  • Should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy.
  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation.
  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
