Responsibilities & Context
Uttaran (Cyclone Anticipatory Action Project)
Uttaran is an NGO working in Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged community people. Uttaran is a people-centered organization using a rights-based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh.
Supported by the WFP, Uttaran is implementing “Cyclone Anticipatory Action” project for selected southwestern coastal districts in Khulna Division. Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Union Field Facilitator for this project.
Reports to: Upazila Coordinator
Employment Status: Contractual- (Fixed Term Contract)
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
A Upazila Union Field Facilitator will be responsible for the following tasks (Including but not limited to):
- Collect and validate data and verify eligible bkash number for the potential beneficiaries
- Establish community based early warning dissemination mechanism
- Facilitate orientation and consultation of Anticipatory Actions activities at UDMC and WDMC
- Organize orientation, training with different stakeholders
- Facilitate to prepare community level preparedness plan
- Supervise CPP volunteer work and assist and guide volunteers for the smooth functioning activities.
- Re-activate and functioning of cyclone shelter management committee
- Any other assignments of organizational management
