Education

Post Graduate degree in any discipline with not less than 2nd division/class in any public examination.

Experience

  • At least 10 years

Additional Requirements

  • Age at least 38 years
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience, with at least 6 years of experience at the project management level in the development sector/NGO/INGO, or government agencies.

  • Track record of delivering excellent results in leadership roles and commanding respect.

  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation; ability to produce and disseminate high-quality programme narratives.

  • Have knowledge of child rights & and protection issues and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

  • Willingness to work and stay within the project location of SOS Children’s Villages.

  • Self-Driven with a zeal to-do approach

  • Passionate about the development of children and youths

  • Excellent team player with a positive attitude.

  • Meticulous, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of RBM and Project Cycle Management (PCM)

  • Good knowledge of principles of Gender Equity, Diversity and safeguarding standards.

  • Strong moral & ethical character and good physical & and mental health with strong integrity.

Responsibilities & Context

SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh (www.sos-bangladesh.org) is a non-governmental social devolvement organisation provides care for the children who have lost parental care or who are at risk of losing parental care and deprived of caring family environment. SOS Children’s Villages works in more than 130 countries and territories around the world. In Bangladesh, we have been working since 1972 and presently has programmes in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chattogram, Bogura, Sylhet and Bagerhat.

Our Programmes contribute to delivering on SDGs with a special focus on our target group to improve national social protection system, fighting inequalities, promoting access to quality education, strengthening youth employability and ending violence against children.

Area of Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for administration, financial and resource management of the assigned project.
  • Ensure that agreed work plans are successfully implemented at the project level.
  • Ensures that the individual needs and rights of the children are addressed, respected and protected
  • Co-ordinates the planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation processes for the SOS Children’s Village.
  • Leads and supports all co-workers in a strategic way according to SOS Children’s Village policies and values as well as acknowledged and contextualized guidelines of leadership, management and HRD.
  • Delegates tasks with trust and gives co-workers the space to perform effectively.
  • Promotes strong links (communication, team work and the sharing of knowledge) between SOS families, youth care co-workers and other village co-workers.
  • Ensures a secure environment for children and SOS mothers.
  • Builds positive relationships with children through day-to-day interactions and regular meetings.
  • Ensures the required support and monitoring services for SOS mothers and coordinates the professional development of SOS mothers.
  • Ensures a high-quality youth care within youth facilities/youth care programmes.
  • Ensures that youth programmes offer career, learning and development opportunities for youths
  • Ensures appropriate accessibility of village facilities to the neighbouring communities.
  • Ensure safe programming and address any potential risks in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an advocacy plan at the project level.
  • Responsible to increase partners and friends of the organization and maintain good relationship with them.
  • Adhere to organisation standards and regulations such as the Code of Conduct, Child & Youth Safeguarding, Sexual Misconduct Regulation (PSHEA) or any other policies/ regulations as introduced from time to time.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Salary & Benefits: As per Organization Policy (Negotiable for highly competent candidates). The post is residential in nature with family accommodation within the premises.

After probation period of 06 (Six) months, upon confirmation, incumbent will be entitled to receive regular Salary Scale along with Festival Bonus, Contributory Provident Fund and Gratuity, Children’s Education Allowance, Group Insurance (Death & Accidental) as per existing policy of the organization.
