Responsibilities & Context

Review documents: Visa officers review supporting documents, such as financial records, deeds, transcripts, and invitation letters.

Conduct interviews: Visa officers conduct interviews with applicants.

Make decisions: Visa officers make decisions based on immigration laws and policies.

Ensure eligibility: Visa officers ensure that applicants meet legal requirements and eligibility criteria

A visa operations officer may also be responsible for:
Recording and maintaining application data
Ensuring accurate and timely data entry into the system
Ensuring the administration and logistics of passport delivery
Maintaining compliance to standard operating procedures and manuals
