Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science, Bachelor/Honors

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (hydrology major), Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field

Experience

• At least 2 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  NGO

Additional Requirements

• Age 25 to 40 years

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in WASH-related projects (NGO/government/private sector)
• Knowledge of water treatment, distribution systems, and sustainability practices
• Strong analytical, communication, and report writing skills
• Field experience and willingness to travel to rural or hard-to-reach areas

Desirable

• Experience working with community-based water projects
• Familiarity with WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs
• Ability to use GIS or other mapping tools

Job Summary

IPAO is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable ‘Water Specialist’ to join our team and support water-related infrastructure, quality testing, and community-based solutions.

Location: Remote (Frequent travel to project sites across Bangladesh)

Expected Joining: 20th May, 2025

Key Responsibilities

• Assess water quality and availability in project areas
• Design and implement water supply systems (e.g., boreholes, water towers, rainwater harvesting)
• Conduct water testing and analysis to ensure safety and compliance
• Provide technical support on water purification, treatment, and filtration systems
• Train local communities on water management, hygiene, and conservation
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing water projects for efficiency and sustainability
• Collaborate with engineers, environmental experts, and local authorities
