Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Animal Science, or Post Graduate in any discipline.
Experience
- At least 15 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Feed Mill Operations.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role (AGM/DGM/GM level).
- Strong experience in poultry, fish, and cattle feed manufacturing.
Responsibilities & Context
Job Summary
The General Manager (GM) – Feed Mill Operations is responsible for the overall management of feed mill operations, ensuring efficient production, product quality, cost control. The incumbent will lead cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence and business objectives.
Reports To: Managing Director / Director / Executive Director
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the production of poultry, fish, cattle, and dairy feed.
- Develop and implement annual, monthly, and daily production plans.
- Ensure optimum utilization of plant capacity and resources.
- Achieve production targets while minimizing wastage and downtime.
- Ensure on-time delivery of finished products.
- Monitor raw materials, work-in-process, and finished product quality.
- Coordinate with Nutrition and QA teams regarding feed formulation and quality requirements.
- Ensure customer quality expectations are consistently met.
- Monitor inventory levels and warehouse operations.
- Maintain accountability of raw materials, spare parts, and finished goods.
- Coordinate logistics and distribution activities.
- Monitor manufacturing costs and operational expenses.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and productivity improvements.
