Education

  • Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials & Metallurgical Engineering

Experience

    • At least 7 years

The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):ยท

  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and PEB manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with welding codes, NDT methods, and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in quality documentation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skill and fluent in English.

Responsibilities & Context

The incumbent to be responsible for:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality plans, and standards such as: ISO 9001
  • Prepare and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and monitor corrective/ preventive actions.
  • Analyze quality performance indicators and recommend improvements.
  • Verify steel materials, bolts, electrodes, paints, and consumables against approved specifications.
  • Ensure proper identification and storage of materials.
  • Coordinate with procurement and stores regarding non-conforming materials.
  • Monitor cutting, drilling, fitting, assembly, and fabrication activities.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, alignment, and geometry of fabricated members.
  • Ensure fabrication complies with approved shop drawings and project requirements.
  • Perform in-process inspections and maintain inspection records.
  • Verify Welder Qualification Records (WQR) and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Inspect weld preparations, fit-up, welding parameters, and completed welds.
  • Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as: Visual Testing (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT) etc.
  • Review and submission reports for getting approve welding inspection reports.
  • Inspect blasting operations and surface cleanliness.
  • Verify surface profile and coating requirements.
  • Monitor painting procedures, dry film thickness (DFT), and curing processes.
  • Conduct final inspection of fabricated steel members before shipment.
  • Verify marking, tagging, packing, and documentation.
  • Ensure all quality records are complete before dispatch.
  • Prepare final release notes and inspection reports.
  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and test certificates.
  • Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective action reports.
  • Submit quality status reports to management and clients.
  • Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, and third-party agencies.
  • Attend quality meetings and address quality concerns.
  • Investigate quality issues and root causes.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Train production personnel on quality requirements.
  • Support initiatives to reduce rework, rejection, and wastage.
  • Any other assignment not detailed herein & felt conducive by Management as and when necessary.
