- In-depth knowledge of gender theories, concepts, and international frameworks related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

- Proven experience in developing and implementing gender mainstreaming strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English

Uttaran is a people-centered organization using a rights-based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh.

- • Job Title: Gender Expert
- • Reports to: Government and Civil Society Advocacy Coordinator
Job Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement strategies to mainstream gender considerations across organizational activities, policies, and programs.
- • Conduct gender analysis to identify gender-specific needs, gaps, and opportunities.
- • Provide technical expertise on gender-related topics, including gender equality, women’s empowerment, gender-based violence, and other relevant areas.
- • Develop training programs and materials to enhance staff and stakeholder understanding of gender-related issues.
- • Monitor and analyse national and international policies and trends related to gender and advocate for policies that promote gender equality and inclusivity.
- • Engage in policy dialogue and advocacy efforts to influence decision-makers and stakeholders for gender-responsive actions.
- • Conduct capacity-building workshops and training sessions for staff and partners to enhance their knowledge and understanding of gender mainstreaming principles.
- • Mentor and guide staff to integrate gender considerations into their respective areas of work.
- • Increased capacity of all/relevant staff on strategies/guidelines/protocols/tools to mainstream gender equality.
- • Support and work with Education Cluster to implement and build capacity on Gender in Education for the partners.
- • Contribute to organizational learning on gender equality, ensuring that learning and evidence generated from our programs are distilled into succinct and compelling programmatic guidance and thought leadership.
- • Contribute to the development, dissemination, monitoring and evaluation of innovative program quality tools and resources focused on advancing gender equality.
- • Develop gender-sensitive indicators and tools to monitor and evaluate the impact of projects and programs on gender equality.
- • Collect and analyse gender-disaggregated data to assess the impact of project interventions on women’s economic situation and empowerment.
- • Build strategic partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and NGOs working on gender-related issues.
- • Advocate for policy changes and initiatives that support women’s empowerment in the Char region.
- • Conduct gender analyses to identify the specific needs, constraints, and opportunities for women in the Char region.
- • Develop a comprehensive gender mainstreaming strategy for the project.
- • Promote a workplace free from discrimination and harassment.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Salary
- 64,189.00 bd tk monthly with all benefit (gratuity, provident fund etc.) and 1 yearly bonus equivalent one month salary.
