Responsibilities & Context
Project Title:
Empowering Women through Strengthening WASH Governance System in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar.
Background:
Social and Economic Enhancement Programme (SEEP) is a private voluntary development organization with a vision to create a society for children which is free of exploitation, discrimination and violence and supports growth to their highest potential. Established in 1985 with its head office in Dhaka, it is mandated to protect the children.
Project Overview:
Social & Economic Enhancement Programmed (SEEP) is implementing a project titled “Empowering Women through Strengthening WASH Governance System in Ramus, Cox’s Bazar.” This project aims to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure and governance, with a specific focus on empowering women and enhancing their participation in WASH-related decision-making processes.
Objective of the position:
To engage an experienced Engineer Consultant who will provide technical expertise in the assessment, design, and installation of 32 deep tubewell, ensuring that the interventions are sustainable, gender-sensitive, and aligned with the project goals. The position required to attend and contribute in stakeholder engagement meeting and WATSAN committee meeting.
Key deliverables:
Technical Assessment:
- Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing WASH infrastructure in Ramus, Cox’s Bazar.
- Identify key areas for improvement and potential challenges.
- Evaluate the current WASH governance systems and their impact on women.
Design and Planning:
- Develop detailed engineering designs for proposed deep tubewell installation.
- Ensure designs incorporate sustainable practices and gender-sensitive approaches.
- Prepare cost estimates and timelines for the implementation of deep tubewell installation.
Implementation Support:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight during the installation of deep tubewell.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any technical issues.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed progress reports, including technical documentation and recommendations.
- Ensure construction completion certificate after installing 32 deep tubewell.
Deliverables:
- Comprehensive assessment report including site selection through community consultation.
- Detailed engineering designs and implementation plans for WASH improvements.
- Training materials and manuals for WASH facility management.
- Progress reports and final project report with recommendations.
Duration:
The consultancy is expected to last for a period of four (04) months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.

Compensation & Other Benefits
Total Budget:
BDT. 2,40,000 BDT (Two lac forty thousand taka) only including Vat & Tax. 22 working days will be each month and total working days will be 88 days in four months. The payment will be made 60,000 BDT including VAT and Tax.
