Responsibilities & Context
The Network Engineer is a seasoned professional responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role involves leading complex network projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the optimal performance, security, and scalability of the network. The Network Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the overall IT strategy.
- Design and architect network solutions to meet the organization’s requirements for performance, reliability, and scalability;
- Lead the design and implementation of LAN, WAN, and data center networks, incorporating the latest technologies and best practices;
- Configure and deploy network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers; Manage network configurations, patches, and updates to ensure continuous operation and security;
- Lead and manage complex network projects, from planning and design through to implementation and testing;
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution, on-time delivery, and adherence to project objectives;
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and security breaches;
- Proactively monitor network performance and implement optimizations to enhance reliability and efficiency;
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access controls;
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures;
- Share knowledge and mentor junior team members to enhance the overall skillset of the team;
