Experience:

Responsibilities & Context
Community Development Centre (CODEC) is going to implement the Contingency Partnership to Respond to Emergencies in Chattogram Division, funded by UNICEF Bangladesh; which will assist affected populations in Cumilla, Feni and Noakhali districts., Covering health, nutrition, WASH, child protection, education, and social behavior change.
The project targets over 600,000 individuals, focusing on pregnant women, children, and vulnerable groups. Key activities include medical camps, nutritional support, safe water and sanitation facilities, child protection, and educational continuity, all integrated with capacity development.
Duration – 06 months.
Job Summary:
The Emergency Nutrition Manager will lead the nutrition component of the project, focusing on preventing and managing malnutrition among children, adolescent girls, and pregnant and lactating women in flood-affected areas. The role includes overseeing the implementation of the Pushti Nutrition Package, coordinating with health facilities and community volunteers, and providing technical guidance to ensure effective nutrition interventions and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Implementation:
- Lead the Nutrition Component: Manage and oversee the nutrition interventions under the project, including the implementation of the Pushti nutrition package.
- Develop and Oversee Pushti Package: Design and supervise the execution of the Pushti package, focusing on prevention of malnutrition, including the distribution of SQ-LNS, Kangaroo Mother Care, and nutrition counseling.
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Coordinate with Health Facilities: Work closely with Upazila Health Complexes to ensure the referral and treatment of children with severe and acute malnutrition.
- Engage with Community Volunteers: Collaborate with Community Nutrition Volunteers to conduct screenings, provide counseling, and ensure effective delivery of nutrition services.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Monitor Nutrition Outcomes: Track and assess the effectiveness of the nutrition interventions, including the impact of the Pushti package on malnutrition rates.
- Evaluate Program Performance: Regularly review program activities, collect data, and prepare reports to evaluate progress and identify areas for improvement.
Technical Guidance & Support:
- Provide Technical Guidance: Offer expert advice and support to the nutrition team and community volunteers on best practices for nutrition interventions and counseling.
- Develop Training Materials: Create and update training materials and guidelines for nutrition staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare Reports: Document and report on nutrition program activities, outcomes, and challenges to the Project Coordinator and other stakeholders.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all nutrition activities adhere to project guidelines, donor requirements, and relevant regulations.
PSEA Policy-
S/he should abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC)’s six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy. Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse – PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Contingent Task Assignments:
The Project Head may assign additional tasks based on the demands of the emergency situation and program requirements.
