Responsibilities & Context
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding the market for our pet food products. This role involves managing relationships with retailers, distributors, and wholesalers, identifying new sales opportunities, and developing strategies to meet revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in the pet food industry, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company sales targets and expand market share in the pet food sector.

Account Management: Manage key accounts, including retail chains, pet specialty stores, veterinarians, and online platforms. Build strong, long-lasting relationships to ensure continuous product demand.

Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential retail partners, distribution channels, and direct-to-consumer sales models.

Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team. Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure team goals are aligned with company objectives.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Track sales performance, monitor market trends, and provide regular reports to senior management. Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and areas of success.

Product Knowledge: Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s pet food products, including ingredients, nutritional benefits, and competitive advantages. Educate clients and prospects on product benefits.

Trade Shows and Events: Represent the company at industry trade shows, events, and conferences. Promote brand visibility and foster relationships with potential customers.
