  • Good learning attitude and caring for the students. Ability to use computers.
  • The candidates have to have the willingness to work in the hospital as well. Special Course eg: Orthopedics, Gerontology, Advance nurse midwifery (ANM), TOT required.
  • Communicative/ spoken & written English and PowerPoint presentation skill is preferred. Knowledge and understanding on BNMC curriculum, ability to bring quality education and understand mental health of the students.
  • Able to demonstrate and encourage participatory teaching and learning approach. Supervising and teaching the students in the hospital while they are in their clinical job, administrative roles, strong understanding of safeguarding issues and uphold strong moral values.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary: Responsibility is to work as a member of the educational team and assist the teaching staff of the LAMB Learning & Development Center (LLDC) in developing and teaching nursing and midwifery students and other trainees according to the set standards and curriculum. Providing clinical supervision for nursing/midwives students during practical placements in the wards and in the community. Works as a Nurse & midwife in General Ward, Surgery Ward, Paediatrics Ward, Labour & Delivery, and antenatal clinics, to maintain skills and conduct on the job assessment and training of staff nurse midwives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the Midwifery class
  • Facilitate higher level midwifery and Nursing and short training courses
  • Facilitate Outside GO/NGO training
  • Provide high level technical support to TC and overall technical staff, activities
  • Contribute to preparing clinical rotational plan along with fellow Instructor and Course Coordinator and for the Midwifery students’ theory, clinical practice and share with clinical team
  • To provide different training (with Theory & Practical) to beneficiaries of LAMB:
  • a. Lesson Plan and PPT, questions making under module based
  • b. Midwifery Students education. ie. Theory, Simulation, English, Modular, Simulation, Study, In-service, Night duty, Shifting duty, field visit and night stay.
  • Facilitate liaison with the ARPs, clinical facilities (hospitals, clinics, medical colleges) along with the clinical team at the partners to facilitate clinical training
  • Select clients at the clinical site for assessment in relation to course objectives, students’ goals, and level of expertise of students;
  • Orient students to the clinical sites with fellow instructors; observe students’ interactions with clients and identify gaps in quality service delivery; evaluate students’ competencies during service delivery;
  • Orient students on ‘formal case presentation format’ and assist them to present the cases with fellow instructors;
  • Maintain the skills labs, prepare the skills labs with fellow instructors for specific session demonstrations and teach students through demonstration based on the session plan and the academic calendar;
  • Check logbooks filled by students, review the clinical learning at the end of each shift and assist students in writing about reflective practice in line with learning objectives along with fellow instructors;
  • Conduct assessment of students’ performance and communicate with fellow instructors regarding any student whose performance is unsatisfactory or unsafe, or whenever there are any concerns about her progress;
  • Conduct other activities as and when assigned by the Supervisors.
  • To supervise trainees during their practical work in the hospital.
  • To supervise safe delivery section of branch units in LAMB “Community Health and Development” and target areas.
  • To check and take necessary steps of patients referral slip for LAMB Hospital from Community Clinic or Safe Delivery Units.
  • To work for shifting duty and on call as a senior nurse Midwife in the Labor and delivery and all ward. To prepare the schedule of Trainee and Trainers before starting of any education/training.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Around Tk. 14,800-22,000 per month gross salary (Depending as per experience and qualifications). Other benefits include provident fund, festival allowance once per year, and critical illness and death benefit.
