Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, English, Social sciences, Management, or relevant field.

• Graduate degree in journalism, English, Social Sciences, Development studies, international development or any relevant field.

Experience

  • At least 2 years

Knowledge and Skills:

•Understand role of communications in WV ministry, follow and adhere WVI Communications protocol and guideline.

• Competent in writing compelling stories, news report and press releases for fundraising, handle potential media crises, and humanitarians’ disasters, and invigorate advocacy efforts.

• Competency in photography and videography.

• Training and facilitation skills and proven management and leadership ability.

• Good time management, proven experience as a team player and demonstrated collaboration skills.

• Competent in the use of Microsoft, Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Work Environment:

• 50% work travel is expected.

• This role will work directly wit Area Programmes, special projects and different sectors heads of WVB.

• Work will require visits in APs and special projects of WV Bangladesh.

• Diverse language group and some work areas have security issues.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Advocacy, Campaign & Accountability Coordinator position will be the focal point for communications, advocacy and media relations at District/Upazila level and look after the overall relevant issues of ACO/AP/Project level.He/she will primarily support Project Communications in creating, designing and distributing communications and Public Relations materials effectively linking the APs of the ACO. In addition, the person will proactively support in meeting resource needs (Design, documents, stories, photos and videos, newsletter etc) and rolling out communications activities for Cluster, ACO, AP and projects of World Vision Partnership.The role will actively support in building and increasing capacity of Area Programs, ACO and other Project staffs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support Advocacy Program by producing IEC/BCC materials, stories/ facts for fund raising and campaign at ACO/Project /NO/ SO level but high priority of project expectation.

• Develop advocacy and Communication plan for project in Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Ramu, Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazila.

• Build local staff/community groups capacity on advocacy communication and Accountability

• Enhance Project Innovation- Organizing innovation challenges, piloting and scaling up of innovation in the project. Sharing, engaging and maintaining regular communication with the internal and external stakeholders for ensuring sustainability of innovation and extending support in capacity building on innovation.

• Communication for Development: Maintaining networking with the media and sharing op-eds/ stories for publication in the media

• Extended support in advocacy campaigns: Supporting in conducting advocacy/campaign initiative additionally project task.

• Engage with National campaign “It Takes me to end Child Marriage” and Global campaign ENOUGH.
