Responsibilities & Context

Job Context: The position will be responsible for managing and executing legal procedures related to the collection, verification and registration of legal documents, particularly in property and land-related transactions. This role requires establishing and maintaining effective relationships with government and private organizations to secure necessary approvals, registrations and legal documentation. The individual will also handle various legal matters as assigned by management, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

A) Document Collection & Investigation:

  • Collect, review, and investigate legal documents to ensure adherence to legal procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct thorough verification of documents related to ownership, titles and other legal claims for ensuring legal soundness.

  • Analyze land-related documentation (e.g., title deeds, khatians, porcha) and provide legal assessments for the organization.

B) Liaison with Authorities and Stakeholders:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with government bodies, private organizations and individuals to secure necessary legal approvals and registrations.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for interactions with organizations such as District Commissioner offices, Sub-Registry offices, Tahsil offices, land mutation offices and other relevant authorities.

C) Legal Procedure & Registration:

  • Execute the registration of various legal instruments including land deeds, Power of Attorney, Sale Agreements, and other agreements.

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of legal documents to appropriate regulatory authorities for registration, mutation and other legal purposes.

D) Approvals & Compliance:

  • Coordinate with relevant authorities to secure approvals, permits and clearances required for legal and land-related transactions.

  • Ensure all legal activities comply with local, national and international laws, as applicable.

E) Drafting & Vetting of Legal Documents:

  • Draft and vet various legal instruments, including agreements, memorandums of understanding (MoUs), sale agreements, powers of attorney and affidavits.

  • Provide legal advice on the interpretation of contracts and legal agreements, ensuring alignment with the organization’s interests.

F) Representation & Dispute Resolution:

  • Represent the organization in legal matters involving land, property and related legal disputes in coordination with courts, tribunals, or government institutions.

  • Liaise with external legal counsel or stakeholders as needed to resolve legal issues in a timely and effective manner.

G) Reporting & Record Keeping:

  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date record of all legal documents, approvals and registrations related to company property and assets.

  • Prepare and submit reports on legal matters and status updates to management as required.

  • Input relevant information into company legal or land-related software systems.

H) Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by senior management or the Head of Department (HOD) as required to support the organization’s legal needs.
