5 years of experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and duties in programs focused on organizational development in the Bangladeshi context along with proven experience in implementing operational components of large and complex project projects with strong preference of European country funding specially BMZ.
Knowledge on ASRH, related intervention, life skill education and livelihood for young.
Strong communication skills to manage across teams in challenging contexts, strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with teams, local counterparts, donors, and other stakeholders to achieve results.
Experience of working with LGIs and school management committee.
Fluency in Bangla & English are required both orally and in writing.
Competent and dedicated staff that can be reached for feedback.
Excellent communication, networking and analytic writing skills.
Computer Literacy with capacity of communication through digital means.
Team building and leading capacity and ability to work under pressure and meet the deadline.
The applicant should have a brief knowledge and practice on child safeguarding, Gender responsiveness, environmental safeguarding and conflict transformative management.
Able to drive motorbike with valid driving license.

Responsibilities & Context

DASCOH Foundation is a non-government and non-profitable organization. Utilizing local knowledge of the people at grass root and available resources at local level, DASCOH has put forward an alternative participatory development process. It has developed a professional workforce with flexible decision-making capacity. DASCOH is using supportive supervision & coaching method to develop human capital and thus helping to develop the capacity of local government institutions, which is reflected in the project planning and management with local government, private sector, donors and the community. Currently, it operates ten projects, covering the thematic areas of health, climate adaptation, human rights, quality education, livelihood improvement, etc. mainly covering Rajshahi division but all over the country. Several projects are ongoing in the thematic areas and information technology support are required for innovation, monitoring, analysis and showcasing good practices and achievements.

DASCOH is seeking application from qualified individual for the role of Area Coordinator (AC) for its “Improving young people’s access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through a community- based approach and cooperation with state institutions” (A-EMPOWER) project which aims to improving the sexual and reproductive health and rights of adolescents in Rajshahi, Chapainawabgonj and Naogaon Districts of Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh in line with SDG 3.7 “Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health services, including family planning, information and education, and mainstream reproductive health into national policies and programs.

The incumbent will support the organization by coordinating the field implementation of the project in a specific district in coordination with the program and organizational management, government stakeholders, donor, partners and other stakeholders. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness and compliant implementation of activities. S/he will provide a broad range of project management, operations, and technical support to the project implementation and advocacy with different authorities for several planned activities for expected result.

Responsibilities are:

Work closely and effectively to implement all designed activities of the project in the field.
Maintain accurate compliance records and reports for all activities while implanting.
Follow the plan and design and also government standard guidelines and inform the team as and when necessary.
Advocacy for formation of district and upazila level coordination committee for ASRH as per national action plan of adolescent health strategy and ensure regular meeting.
Implementation of different project interventions in the project area based on local suitability, sensitivity in coordination with UH&FWC, schools, local level authority of both health and family planning, local community, local government institute.
Coordinate with local level human resources from all level and national authorities for supporting the training as per project plan and schedule.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration with local level relevant officers, UH&FWC and LGIs for effective implementation.
Support implementation of DASCOH life skill and livelihood training centre as per the project planned by identifying target group training participants and follow up as and when necessary.
Provide regular information to team for proper documentation and communication as per organization and donor need.
Ensure community and especially adolescent/youth engagement for participating in the project activities.
Support different study and research data collection and coordination with respondent.
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
